Why is folic acid considered mandatory in 1st 3 mths of pregnancy?

    The neural tube and entire nervous system of the foetus is formed in this period. Folic acid prevents any neural tube defects that could otherwise occur if it is deficient.

    It is our duty to educate all about this; a friend of mine who considered herself very knowledgeable, did not take ANY TABLET (incl folic acid) and got a deformed child. Sad

    This is one vitamin that is not available in more quantity in any natural resource; supplements ONLY work. I use Folic acid tabs when i get blisters in mouth.
